Now if priests in my parish looked like this guy...

...I'd probably go to church more often.

Faking it

I wanna try out lomography. But I'll try to master conventional photography first. "Photoshop-ing" pictures will do for now.

Mika at the Beach

My cousin Mika. Fun day at the beach.
Haven't seen her in a long while.
Her schedule's too hectic she can't find time to goof around with her ate. : (

Life

Whenever I look at my life I always come to the same conclusion: This is no way for a person my age to be living life. sheeesh.

My life is so boring I now take pictures of plastic plants.

Kimmy Dora: Go Watch It!

I am a big fan of Eugene Domingo and I try to watch any movie with her in it. Believe it or not, I even suffered through two hours of watching Bong Revilla “act” (and I am using the term very loosely here) in Kapag Tumibok ang Puso because Eugene Domingo played a supporting role in the movie. So when news came out a few months ago that she’s going to be starring in her very own movie, I promised myself that, come rain or come shine, I will be in the theater, watching the film on opening day. Okay, so I wasn’t able to watch it when it opened last Wednesday, but I made sure I saw it today even if it I have 2 term papers waiting to be made. That’s how much I love Eugene Domingo.

So how was it?

Well you know how sometimes the bits and parts shown in a movie’s trailer are actually the funniest scenes of the film? Thank God that’s not the case with Kimmy Dora. People, I am not exaggerating when I say that this is probably one of the funniest Filipino films ever made.
The movie is well-acted. It has very funny lines. It has a coherent plot and is not just a long series of one gag joke after another. And Eugene Domingo…OMG she was just fantastic! There’s this scene where she was switching characters from Dora to Dora-playing-Kimmy, and she was just brilliant. She didn’t shout (like Ai-Ai), use stupid costumes (like Pokwang) or throw cream pies on her face to elicit laughter (do people actually still do this?). She used great timing, subtle facial expressions and great, great acting. She is now officially my favorite local actress.

I can’t tell you much more except that I was laughing so hard (and so was everyone else in the theater) that air was coming out of my lungs in rapid bursts, making it very difficult to breathe.
So people, do go out and watch this film. It’s definitely worth your time and money.

Johnson (Dingdong Dantes’s character): Your sister is…
Kimmy: Special?
Johnson: Yes, special.
Kimmy: In a mongoloid kind of way.

Ako Mismo vs I Pledge

We Filipinos always say that we do nothing but ape everything and anything American. But check out this new public announcement starring famous, semi-famous and never-been-heard-of Hollywooders:

Hmmmm...that looks kinda familiar. I wonder where I've seen it before.
