We Filipinos always say that we do nothing but ape everything and anything American. But check out this new public announcement starring famous, semi-famous and never-been-heard-of Hollywooders:
Hmmmm...that looks kinda familiar. I wonder where I've seen it before.
That style of editing in I Pledge is not even groundbreakingly new. It has been done several times before. And there's hardly any similarities between the two videos apart from the quick shots of each individual saying something for a second.
What really matters is the message these videos convey to the viewers.
Actually, I was alluding to the fact that the two videos pretty much have the same concept: show celebrities pledging to do something for the good of the country/people.
Although I am a fan of movies, I know zip about editing, lighting or all the other technical stuff about them (heck, I don't even notice them unless they are REALLY bad), so I can't really comment on the videos' editing style. hehe
